Sterling sent down
The Penguins have assigned forward sniper Brett Sterling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).
After a more than impressive NHL stint, tallying five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 7 games, he was given the word today that he has been a victim of the numbers game.
Sterling showed that he can play at this level, and now a run at the Calder Cup will just solidify that bet for his future next season, as a UFA.
