Pens sign prolific college scorer, Paul Thompson
It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have locked up Paul Thompson, a scoring forward out of the University of New Hampshire.
Thompson attended this past summer's Pittsburgh prospect camp, and stood out when he set up Eric Tangradi with a saucer pass feed for a breakaway.
This season at UNH, Thompson put up 52 points (28 goals, 24 assists) and 30 PIM's in only 39 games.
As a result of being the Hockey East Scoring Champion, and leading all other players in points, Thompson was named Hockey East's Player of the Year.

Some good quick quotes from an interview he did with McKeen's Hockey Prospects:
"My strengths are scoring, quick release, vision, and size. My defensive game needs to improve but it has come a long way in the last couple of years. Also, I need to consistently play physical."
"I try to model my game after Chris Drury. Drury does everything well, he can score, pass, skate, hit, and is a great leader. Drury also has a trend to win wherever he plays."
