Tarasov played last season in the top junior league in America, the USHL.
In 57 games with the Indiana Ice, he tallied 75 points (37+38) in just 57 games, earning himself USHL All-Rookie and All-Star achievements.
His 37 goals led the entire league.

Now at the age of 20, he has a shot to make a lasting impression on the Pittsburgh coaching staff.

Tarasov looks like he may just live up to his potential... the 5-foot-11, 183-pound right winger showed his explosiveness,
and that he has the ability to make an impact for Indiana this season, as well as possibly be a very good pro player someday.
He was passed over in the last two NHL Entry Drafts, but has looked mature, and more determined in camp thus far.
Tarasov is very elusive, has a good shot, great puckhandling ability, a quick first step, good hockey sense and vision, and is a pure goal scorer.
