Pens ink D-man Philip Samuelsson

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defensive prospect Philip Samuelsson to a three-year entry-level contract.
Philip is the son of former Penguins banger, Ulf Samuelsson.

Samuelsson has top-4 NHL potential, but is currently developing his grit and physical side to go along with his puck-moving skills.
He was drafted 2nd round (61st overall) in '09 by Pittsburgh, and has recently completed his second season at Boston College (H-East).
While there, he matched up against the other teams top lines as a shutdown man and got the job done, while taking a few too many "checking from behind" penalties.
Guess it runs in the family.
