Orpik's Debut. WB/S PENS LOSE.
Tough night for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at home against the Adirondack Phantoms.
Michael Leighton was a formidable opponent once again, this time shutting the lowly-offensive Pens out in front of a decently sized crowd.
Leighton, the former Philadelphia Flyer Stanley Cup Finals goaltender, stopped 28 of the 28 shots faced.
With Tim Wallace called up today, the Baby Pens are now without their top 7 leading scorers.
Currently, 4 of the top 5 scorers are defensemen.
Tough times for the AAA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, at this point in the season.
The lone goal was scored by rookie Erik Gustafsson, deflecting off of Jesse Boulerice's stick and past Thiessen.
Just a terrible game to watch.
Andrew Orpik made his WB/S debut, and showed that he can bang bodies.
