DeSantis signs 1-year deal
Around 1:00 PM today, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pens announced another free agent signing of theirs.
They brought in right-handed defenseman Jason DeSantis on a one-year AHL-only contract.
At the current time, he'll be looked at as the 7th guy in WBS.
Having him on the roster will most likely allow younger prospect Carl Sneep to start his development in Wheeling this season.
Not a career minor leaguer, at 24 years of age, could still be considered as a defensive prospect for us.
As an undrafted player out of Ohio State, the Phantoms brought him in in the 07-08 season. After falling off their depth chart in 08-09,
he spent the last season with Liberec Bili Tygri HC in the Czech league. He put up 5 points in 14 games there.
