Killeen to Wheeling
Patrick Killeen (G): DEL Reassigned by Pittsburgh (NHL) to Wheeling (ECHL)
That's the best news we've heard all day. And that's no knock on Killer.
After Brad Thiessen went to the locker room Saturday night with an injury, John Curry would take over as the starter for Sunday's game.
As a result, the rookie prospect Killeen was summoned from the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers in order to back-up Curry.
Unluckily for the Pens, Curry was smoked for 7 goals on 20 shots.
Killeen was brought in, off of the bench as he made his AHL debut.
He stopped 6 of the 8 shots faced, and didn't look bad - to his credit.
The goals allowed were scored by upper level prospects Zach Boychuk and Drayson Bowman - two players who should be in The Show.
Boychuk was recalled to Carolina last night.
Edit: Thiessen will not play Wednesday.
