Gameday 9 - Canadiens

Written by Rick

Montreal Canadiens (1-3-1) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (4-2-2)

7:00 pm/et

TV: ROOT, RDS, TSN-Habs

CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, PA

It's the Habs. Carey Price, Mike Cammalleri, PK Subban and the Habs. There isn't much else we need to say.

And Brooks Orpik is back.

Season Series: 0-0-0

Last meeting that counted: March 12, 2011. Penguins lost 3-0.

What we said in our recap:

Really embarrassing effort for the Pens. Not even sure what happened. It almost seemed like the Pens had too much time off. We blame the Pittsburgh Power for this. We also blame the uniforms. At least there is a game tomorrow. Yawn.

Know Your Enemy: Habs Blog

What they're saying:

Pittsburgh is devastated by injury right now. They’re essentially missing their top line and top defensive pairing. That hurts. Even so, they’ve been very good considering. This is definitely an opportunity for the Canadiens to gain their second win of the season if they can play a complete game like the other night in Montreal. It would also go a long way to soothing the nerves of the jittery fan base who get on edge any time the Habs trail the Leafs in the standings.

Pittsburgh Penguins Notes:

Dejan Kovacevic of the Trib says "a powerful case can be made that Pittsburgh has become the NHL's No. 1 American market.

Crosby is "looking for more contact" before returning.

Brooks Orpik.

Montreal Canadiens Notes:

Game #1000 for the USS Hal Gill.

Mike Cammalleri will be in the line up for Montreal.

Carey Price is looking for his 100th career win.

Paul Martin - Zbynek Michalek

Marc-Andre Fleury

We made up the D pairings.

No idea on the Habs lines. Sorry.

There will likely be a ridiculous number of Habs fans in the Consol today, just like whenever Montreal comes to town. Maybe the constant loud music will drown them out. It will be great to see Orpik in the line up again. Again, it's tough to know what to expect from this Pens line up other than James Neal being a beast.

Do It.

Go Pens.

If penalties were actually called and players/team had to pay for cheap shots w/ suspensions & fines, THAT would be a deterrent.

I just don't think fighting is a deterrent. There are cheap shots ALL THE TIME. Clearly "having to answer for your actions" means nothing.

.@BlitzburghBrian I just don't see the point of it. Fighting in a completely different game doesn't "deter" anyone from cheap shots.
