Gameday 7 - Jets

Pittsburgh Penguins (3-1-2) @ Winnipeg Jets (0-3-0)
8:30 pm/et
TV: ROOT, TSN Jets

MTS Centre, Winnipeg, MB

The Pittsburgh Penguins head to Winnipeg in the first time in forever to face to reborn Jets. It's too bad that they're still essentially the same Thrashers team that fell apart last season. The Pens were 4-0 against the Thrashers in 2010-2011. They were the victorious opponent in the last game in Thrashers history and MikeComrie scored the final goal in Atlanta.
Unsurprisingly, it's cold in Winnipeg.

Season Series: 0-0-0
Last Meeting: April 10, 2011. Penguins won 5-2
What we said in our recap:
Whatev. Just putting this post up to make it appear that we recapped all 82 games. Great season for Brent Johnson, Pens win 5-2. Get your popcorn ready.
Know Your Enemy: Jets Nation
What they're saying:
So, here we are, a week in and the Jets haven't been able to break an egg. The coach, all sunshine in the run-up to the real season, has chosen a different tack after the first three games, openly challenging his players to get it together. I certainly can understand the frustration Claude Noel must be feeling, since watching the club through the first three games has been a chore.

Charlie made it to Winnipeg:

This seems familiar. There are injuries all over the place. Good thing it's only October. Everyone is freaking out about the Jets because they haven't won a game, but they've only played three. It's not the end of the world for them either.
This is the old Thrashers/new Jets versus the injured Penguins in October. It could be the most meaningless game of the season. Or not. We have no idea what's going to happen.

The Thrashers got the hell out of Atlanta, then rose from the dead as the zombie Jets. It's time to put them back in the ground.
Do It.
Go Pens.
