The fact that a Penguins team lost to an Islanders team in 1975 has absolutely nothing to do with tomorrow night's game.
Tomorrow night's game is between the 2009 editions of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals.
It has been a series for the ages.
People are calling it one of the best seven game series in recent history.
The amount of hype that was devoted to this series before it began was ridiculous.
We all thought there was no possible way it could live up to the hype.
And then it did.
Six games.
Three have ended in overtime.
Five have been one goal games.
Alexander Ovechkin has seven goals and five assists.
Sidney Crosby has six goals and four assists.
Evgeni Malkin has two goals and six assists.
Those three players are the ranked one, two and three in playoff scoring.
But none of that means anything either.

The winner heads to the Eastern Conference Final.
The loser heads home.
