Pens Find Yeo's Replacement
Last season, Mike Yeo's powerplay was anus.
Can't really say it was the sole factor in the Pens' second-round loss to Soupcan.
But it didn't help.
The Pens announced today that they have tapped Wilkes-Barre head coach Todd Reirden to become Bylsma's new assistant coach behind the bench at Consol.
“We interviewed between 10 and 15 candidates and conducted an extensive search, and the most qualified coach was in our organization the whole time,” Bylsma said.By adding Reirden to the coaching staff to join holdovers Tony Granato and Gilles Meloche, the Penguins will now have a full-time assistant coach who played defense at the NHL level to work with their impressive corps of young blueliners.
As the above picture suggests, Reirden was lurking in the shadows during the '09 Cup run.
Wish we could say he looks like a movie villain. But he looks more like that dude that lives down the street.
