We've missed a lot of things in the course of blogging over the years. But never identifying Mr. Rogers skating on the Mellon ice and putting on the C is almost a crime.

In fact Mr. Rogers was the "honorary" captain of the '91 season.

It is the 1991 home opening. If you scroll to the 2:40 mark, Mike Lange explains that each team in the NHL had to pick a local celebrity captain to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHL
