Gameday 45 - Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes (16-24-7) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (23-17-4)
7:00 pm/et
TV: ROOT, FS-CR
Consol Energy Center - Pittsburgh, PA

The Pittsburgh Penguins run against the Southeast Division continues. The Pens outscored their opponents 10-5 in their last three games against Washington, Florida and Tampa Bay. Now it's Carolina's turn. A win today would be three-in-a-row for the Pens.

Season Series: 2-1-0
Last Meeting That Counted: December 27, 2011. Penguins won 4-2.
What we said in our recap:
This game has happened like 12,000 times over the last 6 years. The Penguins completely dominate for two periods, score 3 goals in the third, and for 4 minutes run around like the action sequences in the War Horse trailer. And then the game was over. The Pens put up 52 shots, and controlled the entire game. Carolina is terrible.
Know Your Enemy: Canes Country
What they're saying:
The split moved Carolina to 16-24-7, good for 39 points and up to 13th in the Eastern Conference standings — ahead of the Islanders and Lightning who are both one point back of the Canes with five and three games in hand, respectively.
