Gameday 40 - Devils

New Jersey Devils (22-16-2) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (21-14-4)
7:00 pm/et
TV: ROOT, MSG Plus
Consol Energy Center - Pittsburgh, PA

The Penguins and Devils are tied in points, but the Devils have a game in hand. The Penguins are only two points ahead of Washington who is in ninth place in the East. There's no update on Jordan Staal's condition, but he won't be playing tonight. Dupuis will take over at center. Everything's great! YAAAAY!!!

Season Series: 1-1-0
Last meeting that counted: December 31, 2011. Devils won 3-1.
What we said in our recap:
Fitting end to a bizarre year. Dupuis got hurt, as did Asham. Pens had a chance late, but couldn't score on the powerplay. Worst. Year. Ever.
Know Your Enemy: Running With The Devils
What they're saying: (This is their preview for the Devils game against the Panthers.)
Any sign of life because god only knows this team flat lined the other night against the Bruins. Here’s the issue that the Devils face. They were up 2-0 on Ottawa, lost that lead in the third and lost the game in OT. The Bruins proved how much better they are than us by just destroying us. If the Devils don’t win tonight, that means they’ve dropped 3 in a row going into Pittsburgh tomorrow night. Not a great way to go into Pittsburgh.
