But don't bother sending just the trade proposal. We want a detailed post with cap numbers, reasoning, etc.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THESE ARE JUST IDEAS, THESE ARE NOT RUMORS.
THIS TRADE PROPOSAL WAS SENT IN BY Josh P.

Going to make the rare suggestion of a trade that DOESNT involve Paul Martin (Gasp!)
Teams: Phoenix Coyotes/Pittsburgh Penguins
To Pittsburgh: Shane Doan, 6th Round Pick
To Phoenix: Tyler Kennedy, Dustin Jeffrey
Reasoning:
This trade works great for both teams, the Pens get Doan (A classic Shero deal by the way) who is extremely similar to Bill Guerin when he came over from the Isles in that holy year of 2009. Doan is a power-forward/sniper combo type who can score some goals as well as bang bodies. Still averages 55+ points a year, now at the age of 35. Dude is the definition of a leader. By this trade, Phoenix gets younger (and cheaper), and gets two players for one pending UFA. This youth could also help the Coyotes make that final playoff push. Doan gives the Pens some scoring punch at the top of the lineup to play with Crosby when he gets back, as well as an extra punch on the PP if needed. As mentioned before, Doan is a UFA this summer, which gives Shero that extra space needed to sign James Neal.
Financials via CapGeek:
Doan: $1,303,514 (UFA this summer)
Kennedy: $572,973
Jeffrey: $164,730
Both teams are under the cap.
Summary:
Doan could find his youth again playing with Crosby or even Staal, and could provide a very similar impact to what Bill Guerin did in 2009. He currently has 16 goals and 18 assists this season, good for 34 points which would be fourth on the Pens. Hopefully Shero pulls the trigger, this guy could be the final piece to another cup.
Projected Lines
Doan - Crosby - Dupuis
Kunitz - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Staal - Sullivan
Adams - Vitale - DickPark
Orpik/Letang
Michalek/Niskanen
Engelland/Martin
Sounds good?
Josh P.
OUR THOUGHTS:
Hmmm the inclusion of Jeffrey is interesting. TK, much like Eric Tangradi, has limited no value. Doan would be intriguing for sure, but would Phoenix deal him? Still would probably have to give up more. Would love to see Doan though. What a warrior.
