A dozen hockey [movies] every fan should see.  This article includes the movie [Idol of the Crowds] which stars John Wayne as a hockey player threatened by mobsters for refusing to throw games.  I never knew that John Wayne was in a hockey movie but mainly because I don't care about much pre 1940.  Thanks to akus for the links.

Capitals' forward Brooks Laich left the game against the Bruins yesterday in what looked like a bad knee injury.  Dale Hunter is saying he's [day-to-day].

Penguins' prospect Ben Hanowski scored twice against Wisconsin Friday night.  He has five goals in his last three games and he also is the Captain of [St. Cloud State].

 

Lindy Ruff was apparently [injured] pretty bad at the Sabres' practice today.  Nothing can go right for the Sabres.  

Av's forward Chuck Kobasew was fined $2,500 for tripping Dan Hamhuis.[PHT]  

Former Bruins' first round pick Zack Hamill was placed on [waivers].  Some other [transactions] today.
