No one wanted this.
It would have been a lot more relaxing if the Pens took care of Philly on Thursday night.
But the playoffs are not relaxing.
They're tough and brutal and extremely difficult.
Last year, the Pittsburgh Penguins ran through the Eastern Conference with ease.
We all knew that wouldn't happen again.
The bottom line is that the Penguins still lead the series.
They can end it today in front of "The Most Intimidating Fans in Hockey."
Today's game is on NBC.
Of course, you probably wouldn't know that by looking at their home page:
That tiny picture of Sidney Crosby in the top corner can't be the best way to publicize today's game.
The last time the Pens and Flyers played on NBC they got one of their highest ratings for NHL hockey.
You would figure that NBC would want to capitialize on that and promote today's game, hoping for more viewers.
That tiny Sid pic proves the opposite.
Pens fans aren't the only fans annoyed with NBC:
"Although the start time for Game 6 on Sunday in Carolina has not been announced yet, according to the broadcast schedule just released, it won't be televised on NBC regardless of the outcome of tonight's game between the Rangers and Capitals.[Fire & Ice]
In promoting a possible Game 6 between the Rangers and Capitals at 2 p.m. Sunday, NBC stated in an e-mail press release today that if there is no Game 6 in that series Sunday, 'the Jeep World of Adventure will air from 3-4 p.m. ET and the National Heads-Up Poker Championship from 4-6 p.m. ET.' ... Devils coach Brent Sutter said on a conference call this morning that he has not been told anything about when the game might start."
