Players to watch:
ATL- Blake Wheeler
Wheeler scored twice on Tuesday in Nashville.
NYR- Brandon Dubinsky
With Callahan out, Dubinsky will need to step up even more.
Projected Goaltenders:
ATL- Ondrej Pavelec (2010/11 stats: 20-22-9, 2.72 GAA)
NYR- Henrik Lundqvist (2010/11 stats: 35-26-5, 2.27 GAA)
Injury Report:
ATL- Tobias Enstrom (shoulder, doubtful), Radek Dvorak and Patrice Cormier (upper body, out), Jim Slater (concussion, out), Freddy Meyer (head, out)
NYR- Ryan Callahan (leg, out), Chris Drury and Alexander Frolov (knee, out), Martin Biron (shoulder, out), Derek Boogaard (concussion, out)
Game Thoughts:
The Blueshirts come into tonight’s game needing two points with Carolina nipping at their heels. Monday’s emotional comeback came at a price, as Ryan Callahan went down with a broken leg. Meanwhile, Atlanta seemingly has nothing to play for; they proved just that in their 6-3 at Nashville. Though they have won in their last four trips to MSG, I like the Rangers in this one.
Prediction: Rangers 3, Thrashers 1
The rest of tonight’s predictions:
Senators over Canadiens
Stars over Avalanche
Canucks over Wild (Lock of the night)
