This isn't about revenge. Taking revenge against the Islanders is like punching a baby for wetting its diaper. The Islanders behaved like untalented idiots last game because that's what they are and that's what they do. Punching Trevor Gillies in the face won't get us two points, though it would feel good. Mario Lemieux was right when he called that game a "travesty" and a "sideshow." There's no need to have that happen again. All that would do is bring out more people who love to call Mario a hypocrite and possibly injure some key players before the playoffs.
Sure, if the Islanders want to mix it up, the Pens will mix it up. But that's not the goal. The Pens can't let the Islanders suck them down to their level. If the Pens want to break anything tonight, it should be the scoreboard.
The win is what matters here. The Atlantic Division title is still within reach for the Penguins. Sitting at home, pondering what a disappointment your season was is all that awaits the Islanders.
