Is it just me, or does it look like Howard is still trying to figure out the goalie controls in Be A Pro?

I was up at 5 and couldnt help think anything but "Its a Great Day for Hockey", even though I should be trying to Defy Ordinary.

It's far too early in the morning to get this drunk on Schadenfreude Ale

But I thrive off the suffering of others. I need this.

What's really crazy is the Red Wings are tied for 27th in Goals Against with Edmonton, only ahead of Toronto and LA. And LA has played 3 more games than them. Toronto one fewer, but they're worse than Nickelback. Edmonton has a game in hand, too. I at least expected decent D from the D. Guess it's too cold.

and while I am thinking about it; I'm pretty sure Randy Jones getting claimed was by design...they've been wanting to dump his over-inflated, jagoff Holmgren contract for a while. I still don't see how someone that stupid still has a job.
See: Don Waddell

.... I'd rather have Sid hurt than Geno.

Charlie-O-Lantern? Nice.

Quoting dps2002:Charlie-O-Lantern? Nice.
I might get a chance to watch the Baby Pens play when they visit Hershey in November. Can you give me a brief idea of whats going on with them? I don't get a chance to follow them much, but I'm really excited to see them play.

Then slides way out of position to let Hemsky stamp the net.

Quoting Tangers GoGo Lounge:.... I'd rather have Sid hurt than Geno.
Are you a closet Flyers fan??WTF.
Sid will be fine. The team will be fine.He is the leader of this team with 19 "co" leaders.
You said you didn't like the other site cause they were all over 50 and bland, well buckle up junior, we tell it like it is here.

While I beleive Sid and Geno are 1 and 1A, I'd rather have Sid hurt than Geno.

Somewhere floating around the old C-blog was a picture which clearly showed how badly Elroy was out of position on that play, but I can't find it. Does anybody have a copy of it?

While I beleive Sid and Geno are 1 and 1A, I'd rather have Sid hurt than Geno. Sid's play is very consistent whereas Geno plays possessed when Sid is out.

Yanno fleuryous...I may be wrong, but I think I'm seeing little, tiny bunny ears growing out whenever goalies come up...but I HAVE been wrong before. Just sayin'
Haha

Thanks for covering my ass, guys. Yeah, WBS leads their division through eight games. The nearest competitors have all played nine games.
WBS plays again in Manitoba tonight (I certainly hope it's not another 1-0 overtime game, though I want them to win again), but just because the team leads the division with 10% of games played doesn't mean jack.
As we've seen, injuries to the parent club can sap the farm of its prime talent (Chris Conner led the team in points at the time of his promotion). Also, the chief rival of WBS, Hershey, got its primary weapon back the other day when Alex Giroux, serial ringer and cherry-picker, was demoted from Washington to the Bears, so with him back, Hershey could turn back into a juggernaut again.

Honestly, and you can job me for this all you want, I felt bad for the kid (Howard) last night. Yeah, he looked like an amateur, but until halfway through the second period, his team was NOT helping him out. He doesn't seem like a smug douche at all, so I feel bad.

Someone tell me what the deal is with Giroux. Why don't the Craps keep him with the big club? To get him work?!?! He's one or two season from being nicked "Crash Davis" Giroux. The entire Washington offense is 4 guys, and a bunch of Ovie jock-sniffing ice ballerinas, and Baldreau knows this...
Do you ever get the feeling that people just like to talk shit because they like the sound of their voice? Goes the same for some people that just like the sound of their keyboard clacking

You guys crack me up. A compelling argument can be made either way. Missed Daves explanation, I did see a mention of it, but if someone knows more...link?

So now you trying to turn the tide by talking shit about the Caps hoping we will jump on that boat and not remember what you said about Sid and Geno.
And DavetheCapsfan already answered the question about Giroux.

Based on my observations of the guy, here's what I've seen. The man has exceptional offensive skills. He has some pretty good size, standing 6'3". The thing about him is, I don't see him exerting much effort on the ice...yet he scored 60 goals last year. It's like he lumbers around, looking for the good scoring areas, and waiting for the puck to come to him rather than working to get the puck himself. He also has a nasty habit of hanging around the opposite blue line waiting for home-run passes from his defense when they force turnovers.
It comes down to this. If you were to combine Alex Giroux's offensive skills and size with the effort that, say, Keith Aucoin puts forward at all times on the ice (or even Chris Bourque when he was with the Bears), you'd have the foundation for a damn good NHL player. As it is, I don't see that effort, and apparently Boudreau doesn't either...which is why Giroux was exiled again.

EDIT: Since I'm #48... what's the latest on TK? Saw on EN he's day-to-day.

Never underestimate the sheer asshattery of Bears fans. They're almost as douchey as the douche who leads their gay little chant on the big screen.
That asshole was at the last game I went to, and I had to resist the urge to throw a chair at him. So obnoxious.

So I took the whole day off but my boyfriend didn't... I should probably start drinking so I don't have to drive to Columbus, right? Does that make me a horrible person... or just a drunk?

Conner-Rupp-Godard

The game in November will probably be my kids' first real hockey game. Seriously, I might buy some bear claws just to keep them entertained so I don't have to leave before the game is over. They are 2 and 3 years old, so I hope there is enough going on to keep their attention.

That makes you an excellent planner in my book

A warning, then. If there's a really, really bad referee call that goes against the Bears, there's this guy in the lower levels that will lead the crowd in a chant of "B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T BULLSHIT!".

Quote:Conner-Rupp-Godard
Holy balls, you gotta be kiddin me. Conner? On the 4th fucking line? That COULD be the dumbest shit I've seen today. He's what 4'9" tall and a buck 25? W.T.F.?!?!?!?!? If they're gonna do that just call up Boogard or Brookbank or Boulerice. That shit is just dumb as hell...or maybe it's just me.

Is that Hershey Bear Elvis?? I'll just tell the kids they are trying to sing their ABC's but can't remember. Or something like that.

Personally, I'm pondering whether to stick with the ever-tasty Bud Lite Lime or switch it up to Captain Morgan/Coke...oh, the vagaries of my day off....

I'm curious why they don't have Conner on the 3rd line and Dupuis on the 4th. Dupuis' game is more suited for 4th line duty than Conner. Shit, what happens if there's a line-brawl? Conner will be a grease spot after it's all done.

Settle down. Conner's speed cancels out his lack of size concerning such altercations. Besides...dude is fearless. He will not back down if someone stares him down...at least until Godard comes in and settles matters.

In the spirit of ganging up, I will chime in on this too:
I know what you are trying to sell, but I'm not buying it. Yes, we saw what Geno did for one prolonged stretch with Sid out, but those 2 seem to feed off of each other. Additionally, seeing how Sid almost single-handedly raped Washington right out of the playoffs last year and went punch-for-punch with Ovechkin, I cannot understand how anybody would rather have Sid out of the lineup over anybody short of God or Buries It (which to Mario=God is one and the same). Both players step up and dominate when the team needs it, so I wouldn't worry about Geno being out instead of Sid. While people are so quick to point out that Geno brought it up a few notches when Sid was gone for a prolonged period, we have yet to see what Sid can do with Geno out for a while. Now's our chance to see it and I say we should watch with great anticipation.
It may have been overkill to post that, but I liken it to stealing your wallet after akus and Rage knocked you to the ground and concussed you.

Not saying that his diminutive stature means he should be fear-stricken on the ice. I'm just saying that his game isn't as well tailored for 4th line duty as some others on the roster. I would assume that he'd be fearless to be playing in the NHL (even in a limited role) at his size. But being fearless doesn't directly translate into "should be on the 4th line."

Oilers' coach looks like my uncle Bud. /random

I've taken bigger dumps than Chris Conner. I could beat his tiny ass with one bare hand and an empty hockey glove. God bless him...hahaha...what's he gonna do? Beat my knees up?

See, that's how I was looking at it! Unfortunately I overlooked that fact that I have to pick him up from work before anything else.... But a few shower beers can't possibly hurt that

I cant wait until noon. At work until then, then off to columbus. I think we are going to try and hang the flag on a wall a mozaik or something. You will be able to find us. I hope some of the people from the carolina trip make it. Whistler, The Greek, Docc8? There were a ton of other people that I was too drunk to remember their names. If we had 10 1st round picks, year after year, like you losers did, we would be a powerhouse team as well.
Congrats! You won the cheap way! Bravo.

Are we talking about the same team that used to have that bullshit "cultural pick" for the better part of the 60s that allowed them to pick a French Canadian player before any team was allowed to make a single pick?

Wait, a Habs fan is bitching about first round picks? Are we talking about the same team that used to have that bullshit "cultural pick" for the better part of the 60s that allowed them to pick a French Canadian player before any team was allowed to make a single pick? In fact, the Habs had the first TWO picks in 1969 before any realized what a fucked up rule this was. You want to talk unfair? The Habs won the Cup in 1968 and this rule still allowed them to take the top two picks at the 1969 draft.

Don't be putting those thoughts in my head, Rage. Uncool.
