PS, anybody see Price last night, standing there like the joke he is with two minutes left instead of skating to the bench? Reminded me of "Miracle" when the Russian coach doesn't know what to do.

I'm thankful for this picture and all the photoshopping opportunities it will provide come playoffs.

I'm thankful for a lot of things but I'd really be happy in staff started doing proper recaps again. I think it's pretty clear Bourque isn't going anywhere anytime soon and this place just isn't the same without the kick ass work that goes into the recaps.

WOOOOOO! DO IT!

anyone see the beatdown the hawks put on the sharks last night? ouch.

i saw a girl at the game wearing a whitney jersey last night. I approached her while shaking my head and said, "So soff." Confused, she replied, "K..." That's the end of my story. Go pens.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

Ovechkin's not the fastest or the toughest guy to ever play hockey. If somebody wants to get him, they'll get him. Just ask Steve Moore.

Im talking about getting him in a way that resembles a hockey play...I guess you are talking about getting him in a career ending, should charges be pressed way...

I guess if someone wants to be banned from the NHL, they can try and end his career.

The point is that with the way Ovechkin runs people, sooner or later he's going to seriously injure somebody. If history is any indication, the NHL won't do anything, so players will take matters into their own hands, and if they want to get him they'll do whatever they have to.

It's like Pat Quinn said a few weeks ago, "You don't repay dirt with honor, you repay dirt with dirt."

And banned from the NHL? Bertuzzi got 20 games, that's less than McSorley or Simon got.

From a couple posts ago:

Quoting Stoosh:
Quoting Rage:
On the subject of hockey in general and one of 3 or so of the most over-rated goalies in the NHL, I give you an example of over-rated, classless jerk: ctvolympics.ca/.../... courtesy of EN
From the article... Quote:
Indeed, there are several Finnish NHL goalies vying for the starting Olympic job. Rivals for Kiprusoff may include Minnesota's Niklas Backstrom(8-9-2, 2.66, .909), Toronto's Vesa Toskala (1-4-2, 3.82, .869), Nashville's Pekka Rinne (9-4-0, 2.38, .914), Boston's Tuukka Rask(5-2-1, 2.31, .917), Chicago's Antti Niemi (4-1-1, 1.85, .921) or Tampa Bay's Antero Niittymaki (6-1-3, 2.02, .936), who played for Finland at the 2006 Winter Games.
If I'm Jari Kurri, I'm telling him not to bother. Kiprusofffffff already sounds like someone who doesn't want to be there. I understand the guy's primary concern is to the team that's signing his paychecks and perhaps that's rightfully so. But there are probably three guys on that list above who are 1) more than capable of filling the position and 2) more that happy to don the blue SUOMI jersey. Kind of a departure from what you hear from guys like Ovechkin and Malkin in regards to playing for Russia both this year and in Sochi for the 2014 Games.

Sorry, Stoosh...I gotta lay the kinda smackdown. haha

Kiprusoff is actually having a pretty monster year thus far (especially in the past few games)...so none of these "Soff" comments. Just saying. haha

And I don't think he's being a jerk, technically. Dude played SEVENTY SIX games last year...he only sat FIVE! I'd be worried for my health down the stretch as well. He wants to win a Cup, I don't blame him. He's probably worried about his endurance, and I would be too. He had every win for his team last year, save 1. I feel what he said might have been taken out of context, and that might just be an air of competitiveness . Honestly, I'm thinking Backstrom and him are the best Finnish goalies by far right now, and it's going to be either one of them starting. However, I feel that Kipper seems to make more game-changing saves...that could just be my thoughts, though. Backstrom is great, too, I'm not knocking him...but I'm a Kipper homer, so that's all I have to say about that.

So all in all, I think he's just trying to save his endurance for the Cup, unless he knows he'll be representing his country....he's a special case, in my eyes. McElhinney has looked better this year than last, but he's only played 2 games, at the most.

Sorry, end rant. Just gotta stick up for my goalies.

#27 fleuryous 2009-11-26 13:38
Oh, and PS...forgot to add this: considering how much he plays, and how susceptible he is to injury, given that vulnerable position(especi ally with some of those athletic saves he makes), I'd be worried about my paycheck too. haha

Obviously love ya, Stoosh...but I'm a goalie homer.

Didn't Errey said that Martin didn't motion for him to come? I thought I saw Price try to come out, but he didn't get the go-ahead from his coach.

That's what I remember hearing.
