Note that tonight's game is on FSN Pittsburgh, the NHL Network in the US and TSN in Canada.  Because of the "national coverage," it looks like the game will be blacked out on NHL GameCenter and NHL Center Ice.

The Flames are leading the Northwest Division and they beat the Red Wings 5-3 on Monday.  Miikka Kiprusoff has been in net for every single Calgary victory this season and he leads the league in wins.  The Flames are third in the NHL in goals scored.  They're also 24th in goals against.  If you look up "Calgary Flames Fan" on Google Image Search this comes up on the first page:

The Calgary Flames are best known for the "Red Mile."  It looks like no one told Calgary that Canada uses the metric system.  During their run to the Cup Finals in 2004 Flames fans took to the streets, drinking, partying and removing various items of clothing.

The Penguins currently sit in sixth place in the East, but have played one fewer game than Carolina who is in fifth.  Their last game against the Flames was a 3-2 shootout win in Calgary on December 6th, 2007.

Evgeni Malkin continues to lead the league in scoring.  He also makes a mean pierogi:

Igor Larionov's daughter is looking to set Geno up for a scoring chance.

Thanks to everyone who brought that video to our attention.

In other news, Jeremy Roenick thinks that Sidney Crosby is boring. Gee Jeremy... we haven't heard that before.  Thanks for the new information.   Your opinion has really opened our eyes.

Roenick was drafted the year after Crosby was born.

ESPN.com asked the country if they thought Ovechkin's goal celebration was "Disrespectful" or "Fun."  The results, broken down by state, are very interesting.

That is not Photoshopped.

The Penguins are completely buying into Dan Bylsma's system and it shows.  They're a much tougher team to play against and they display the kind of work ethic that was completely missing during the middle of the season.  The Pens have picked a great time to get hot.  Empty Netters points out that Bylsma' currently has the best record of any mid-season replacement coach in Penguins history.

Bylsma is definitely teaching the Penguins to play to their strengths.  Also, the new additions to the team have been outstanding.

Chris Kunitz has 12 points in 12 games as a Penguin.

Bill Guerin has 10 points in 9 games.

The Penguins haven't suffered back-to-back regulation losses since late January/early February.  They've picked up points in all but four games since then.

Now all they need is for the five men on power play to "Kliq."

Go Pens.
