Four Weeks Left...

The NHL season is quickly coming to an end.  It seems like just yesterday that the Pens opened the season against the Senators in Sweden.

Evgeni Malkin was named the number two star for the week.  He had three goals and five assists in three games last week.  Cam Ward was the first star and Shane Doan was the third.  Alex Ovechkin was too concerned with cooling down his stick and could not make the list.

The Toronto Star says that Crosby and the Penguins making the playoffs and succeeding there is good for the NHL.
"Having the Kid healthy and happy is good for the NHL – he sells tickets everywhere he goes, not only in Pittsburgh, where sellouts have again become automatic. Is there any more anticipated game than one involving Crosby vs. Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals?

Hard to believe that Crosby, at 21, already is in his NHL fourth season. Harder to believe is that anyone might underestimate Crosby – it would make sense we have yet to see his best, right?

Yes, Ovechkin and Malkin are vying for the top individual offensive honours and claiming the headlines. But the best Canadian-born forward in the game is conceding nothing and, barring a total turnaround, neither are the Penguins, his Penguins."
Don Cherry from Saturday night.  He takes a shot at Geno and then takes at shot at "the goofball announcers in Pittsburgh."

Seth from Empty Netters has another reason why Scott Hartnell isn't a complete douche.  That may be true, but it doesn't make any of these Photoshops less funny:

In other news, the Red Wings need to decide if they want Joe Louis Arena renovated or they will build a new arena.  Maybe the Wings can pay for a new barn with the money they'll save by signing Marian Hossa at a discount.
"I don't want to move around any more. I'm 30. I don't know how long I'm going to play, but I am looking for long-term deal."
It's a real shame that no teams were willing to give Hossa that sort of job security when he was a free agent in the summer.  Poor guy.

The Montreal Canadiens may be up for sale.  Does anyone want to chip in some money to buy them?  The team is estimated to be worth $334 million.
