Marc-Andre Fleury Has Fractured Finger

Last night in Edmonton, Marc-Andre Fleury fractured his finger.

He made a glove save in the second period and the puck hit his hand akwardly.
Fleury was seen getting medical treatment on his left hand a couple of times during the night.
Trainers taped up a visible cut and Fleury finished the game.

He is now listed as day-to-day.

Backup goalie Brent Johnson is also injured so, if Fleury cannot play tomorrow night in Vancouver, John Curry will get the start.

Fleury is 25-14-1 this season and has played two outstanding games in a row.
He has appeared in 41 of the Pens 49 games.

John Curry has not played in the NHL this year.
He went 2-1 in the big leagues last year and has a 16-13-1 record in the AHL this season.

Wow, that's tough news considering that Fleury was basically the sole reason we won the last two games. What's BJ's injury? A pulled groin or something?

Still, I bet Fleury will play, at least tomorrow night at Vancouver. Then we'll probably see some Curry peppered in here and there.

Farm report:

Nothing good coming out of the farm tonight. WBS is losing at Binghamton 3-0, and their opponent tomorrow night, the league-best Hershey Bears, is currently laying a whoopin' on the second-place team in the East, Albany. At last check, it was 10-3.

No. BORK does have a goal, though...as do seven of his teammates. One, Alex Giroux, has a hatter.

Albany has it back to 10-4 with time running down. Give them credit...they were losing 10-1 at one point.

Beej can't play till next Week even if he is healthy, a player put on IR has to sit for 7 days and he went on Reserve Wednesday

Fluery is one of the best goalies in the league but with him out i have faith in Johnson cause he played solid when fluery needed a rest but i dont know about curry playing! at least dupis got on the goal scoring last night in edm

Dupuis has more goals on this season than you yinzers give him credit for. I believe he has more than Kennedy, and I rarely hear TK taking any flack over his play. He has got one hell of a slapper.

Who knows? Maybe Curry will come in and be on acid every game. Before the signing of BJ we all had to assume that Curry would be our backup! (at least that's the assumption I was under)

Big-time schedule coming up too. After Vancouver we have the Isles then the Caps at home, then we have the Flyers and the Rags on the road- back-to-back- followed by Ottawa at Mellon and we end the month facing the Wings.

Hopefully Fleury will be O.K., considering he played the second half of the last game out of his mind with a broken finger.

Calling it now, Curry with the team's first shutout of the season vs. the Canucks.

He was put on retroactive to Sunday which means he's eligible for the Vancouver game.
