If you're like us, you're probably still living in the '90s
and watching Saved By The Bell reruns.
But times have changed.
The Pens and Capitals have met in the playoffs one time this decade, 2001.
The Pens won in 6.
The Penguins have owned the Capitals in the playoffs in their history,
sporting a 6-1 record, six of those matchups coming in the '90s.
The biggest heartbreak in these series was obviously in 1991-92, when the Capitals owned the second-best record in the NHL and even held a 3-1 series lead on the Penguins, only to see them come back and win three straight.
Too bad we posted that YouTube clip last week.
'Cause we're doing it again.
And we'd be remiss if we didn't look back at how ugly these series were.
This last YouTube was a hidden gem posted by PENSBURGH recently.
How did we even watch hockey when it was like this? Jesus.
Just throw everything you know about this rivalry out the window.
We are now in the age of Crosby-Ovechkin.
This is how it's gonna be for years to come.
This is gonna be a good series.
There's our analysis.
Everyone knows what's up.
