Regular season... where did you go?
Tonight is the last home game of the regular season. It's "Shirts Off Our Backs" night. It's team awards night. It's a Mathieu Garon start.
Both Garon and Philippe Boucher will likely play tonight.
Hal Gill looks to be the odd man out on defense.
It also looks like Max Talbot will be scratched.
The Islanders lost 9-0 to Carolina on Tuesday.
They managed to get 12 shots on net.
The Hurricanes had 57.
Tonight is Bill Guerin's first game against the Islanders since he was their captain.
Malkin currently leads Ovechkin by two points in the scoring race.
The Capitals play the Lightning tonight.
No word on the amount of clean hits slashing and headhunting Ovechkin will face tonight.
If there was ever a team that was begging for Malkin to pad his stats on, it's the New York Islanders.
Of course, now that we said that, it will probably end up being a tight-checking, one goal game.

“I really like the stuff they do, but I thought that was over the line. You know, mocking how bad… I know it was all in good fun and everything, but I thought that was over the line,” [Boudreau] told Yahoo!. “I wasn’t a big fan of that. If they want to mock their own players, fine — go ahead and mock their own players like that. But people pay a lot of money for these commercials, and I didn’t think it was in very good taste when they did the stuff with Alex.”

Whatev.
It looks like next year's Winter Classic will be at Fenway Park in Boston. Bruins and Rangers? Bruins and Habs?
Instead of being out for the season, it looks like Montreal's Mathieu Schneider will probably return today.
MSG is digitally adding advertising to the glass during Rangers' games.
Is Iceburgh the most terrifying mascot in the NHL?
Marc-Andre Fleury's save against the Maple Leafs is nominated for NHL.com's Fans' Choice Save of the Year and included in Pool C in TSN's Play of the Year Showdown.

That save was pretty much the only highlight in that otherwise dreadful game.
There's a 73.7% chance that the Penguins will play the Devils in the first round.

Malkin needs a big night tonight.

In Soviet Russia, goals score you!
Go Pens.
