There has been so much sweat on Cam Ward's balls this week, the Hurricanes should buy stock in Brawny.
Ward is big deal. And the love affair with him has been warranted.
At the other end, Marc-Andre Fleury hasn't gone without his praise,
but his critics usually drown out any good vibes.
In Game One, Fleury won round one of a potential 7-round fight.
We're not experts, but you could tell MAF was a little more on his game.
MAF was dealing with AO flying into his zone for the past seven games.
Last night, it was Matt Cullen.
Series Tied 0-0
7:30PM/ET - Mellon Arena
Overlooking the Carolina Hurricanes is the worst thing anyone could do right now.
Anybody that is already focused on the Stanley Cup Final will be in for a rude awakening when Cam Ward makes his first unbelievable save of the series.
The Hurricanes didn't beat Boston and New Jersey by accident.
Ward is possibly the best goaltender left in the playoffs.
He definitely knows how to win when it matters.
And he's not the only threat the Hurricanes possess.
Eric Staal has been dominant at times and has been able to score big goals.
Apparently he has a brother, but we've heard nothing about that.
Yes We Canni
We will be attempting to break down this ECF battle.
Analysts everywhere are trying to do the same thing while
trying to hide the fact that they can't name more than two of Carolina's D-men.
We've been able to at least know what was going on for most of these playoffs,
as the Pens have gone against bitter rivals Philadelphia and Washington.
The Hurricanes are an enigma to us.
We're not gonna pretend like we know their strengths and weaknesses.
We will just delve into the world of statistics and our well of hockey knowledge
to at least lay out a blueprint of what may transpire.
If you want an example of a series preview written by someone
who is just pretending to know what is going on, go read THIS.
For the Penguins, defensive scoring is crucial. Mark Eaton already has four goals and is an incredible +6, yet has just five points, and Sergei Gonchar (often mistaken for a forward) and Kris Letang have combined for five goals, 14 assists, and 19 points together on the top line.
However, it's worth noting that Brooks Orpik has yet to find the back of the net (4 pts. though), Rob Scuderi has just three points, and Hal Gill is a dreadful 0 goals-1 assist.
Obviously, if the Pens have any chance, Orpik needs to start lighting the lamp.
"Rob Scuderi has just 3 points, and Hal Gill is a dreadful 0 goals-1 assist."
That may be the idiot quote of the playoffs.
And we even read PUCK DADDY every day. hoooo
Before every Carolina fan tells you,
you should know that they are the underdog in the upcoming series.
The team and the fanbase is rallying
around the "us against the world" mentality.
Unfortunately for the Canes and their fanbase,
Sidney Crosby and this Pens team are now in their "world."
We are two rounds away from declaring a winner in Rinkotology.
If you don't have the correct final four picked, you might as well pack it up.
After the jump, you will see the unreal bracket that is leading in the standings.
Potentially 3 three-day breaks. No NBC? Weird.
Here we go.
7:08 Wednesday night, balls were going to fall off. Ovaries were gonna turn to stone.
And here we were at 11:23 Thursday night.
Scott Walker puts home an Game 7 OT winner.
Now we have to deal with the color red for another series.
The Caps are gone, completely out of everyone's minds.
Now the Caps are forgotten.

We now move our attention to a team we have no reason to hate.
To a fanbase we have zero connection to.
The Whalers/Canes and the Pens have never played in the playoffs.
Ron Francis and Tom Barrasso will be lurking in the shadows all series.
But that's not the only thing we're all gonna have to deal with.
In fact, strange as it may be,
this series has more plotlines than a John Grisham novel.
Staal vs. Staal drinking game.
Set the ground rules.
