As we mentioned earlier, the blue third jersey will make its season debut tomorrow night against Phoenix.
While very popular, some consider the blue jerseys to be bad luck?
Last season the Penguins wore them 11 times during the regular season.
Their record in those games was 3-5-2
Saturday, Nov. 15 vs. Buffalo - 5-2 win
Tuesday, Nov. 18 vs. Minnesota - 2-1 shootout loss
Saturday, Dec. 20 vs. Toronto - 7-3 loss
Saturday, Dec. 27 vs. Montreal - 3-2 loss
Saturday, Jan. 3 vs. Florida - 6-1 loss
Sunday, Jan. 18 vs. NY Rangers - 3-0 win
Sunday, Feb. 8 vs. Detroit - 3-0 loss
Wednesday, Feb. 25 vs. NY Islanders - 1-0 win
Saturday, March 14 vs. Ottawa - 4-3 shootout loss
Sunday, March 22 vs. Philadelphia - 3-1 loss
Wednesday, April 1 vs. New Jersey - 6-1 win
Curse or not?
3-5-2 isn't that bad. Maybe it's the quality of the losses that stick in people's minds.
A 6-1 loss to Florida and a 7-3 loss to the Leafs certainly don't look too good and that 3-0 loss to Detroit stung pretty bad at the time.
Apparently there is a fictional biography based on the life of Double J.
Pretty sure Jagr makes that pose before he rails chicks.
After the jump, that idiot Islanders fans gets GIF'd.
At least according to Ron Jaworski.
Basically, Green Bay has a kicker named Mason Crosby...
and the Vikings have a wide receiver named Sidney Rice.
The rest is magic:
[Thanks to TC for the video, and Jon B. for the tip]
First off, on the FSN/DirecTV front, we received this email from Jason M. today:
"I got a call from Jim H. from FSN Pittsburgh this morning and they said the Pens' pre- and post-game shows were blacked out by error and that they have no intentions on doing so going forward. It should be fixed by Wednesday."
Second, Happy Birthday Sir Buries It.
More after the jump.
Is it too early in the season for a game to be a trap game?
The Pens play Phoenix on Wednesday at home.
Then go to the House That Crosby Destroyed on Thursday.
Whatev. There's nothing else to talk about.
Some cool stuff after the jump.
Jason M. sent this in:
FSN Pittsburgh is blacking out pre- and post-game Penguins shows on DirecTV unless you live in PA, OH and WV. They haven't done this in years past, and it's pissing me off. That's the whole reason I pay for the sports pack, to get the Pittsburgh shows. DTV said that it's FSN's call. I'm calling them Monday to complain, but I've noticed other people in c-blog have mentioned it. With enough pressure, maybe we Pens fans that live out of the immediate area can get their pre- and post-game fix. Thanks.

After the jump, an unreal video from the Devils-Flyers game.
It involves a fan fight.
Thanks to everyone who sent us photos.
We'll be contacting the t-shirt winners by email for their info.
It's not an official NHL season until Trent Hunter comes out of the woodwork to score a big goal.
But the Pens took over in the third period despite Hunter's near heroics.
The Pens were down heading into the third period.
They scrapped and were able to tie it up.
Late in a third, a Guerin penalty brings you to your feet.
We'd be lying if we said we didn't miss that feeling.
The Pens survived it and were able to get into overtime and the shootout.
And it looks like Bing is starting to perfect the ways of BURIES IT.
