EA Sports fails to spell Brandon Sutter's name right, puts TK on second line.

Since the days of Neil Wilkinson being on the roster for 5 straight years EA Sports struggles with the Penguins lineup for some reason.

No idea who B. Suter is. TK on the second line....

Obviously EA just puts the highest ratings in order. Still, it is embarrassing.

Might buy NHL 13 just to cut Tanner Glass.

Puck Daddy has ratings for other players:

LOLvechkin is 93, Stamjoke is a 91.
And Malkin is only a 91?
If it's in the game its apparently not in the game.

Oh and if your in the " It's only a video game," state of mind, well guess what. NHL 13 is probably the closest your going to get to NHL until December.

A.J. Burnett and the GIF of the summer

Posted by TPB Staff on .

via SBN:

Here is what happened via SBN Pittsburgh:

Pirates starter A.J. Burnett wasn't too pleased Thursday afternoon when Dodgers infielder Hanley Ramirez posed a bit after homering off him in the fourth, then gestured to his teammates while running the bases. So when Burnett struck Ramirez out to end the sixth, he had some choice words

Burnett has turned into the Pirates version of Gary Roberts. What a leader.

Rumbunter, has more.

NHL is bizarre: Philly signs Wayne Simmonds for 6 years

Posted by TPB Staff on .

How bizarre is the NHL?  And better yet, how bizarre is the Philadelphia Flyers franchise?

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-O-gXpjHZi1c/UCzf03vhEGI/AAAAAAAB-vY/UBPjcSFvzvs/s430/simmonds1_84164.jpg

With the owners and players staring at each other across the table like Cobb and Saito, the Flyers decide to sign Wayne Simmonds to a 6-year, $24-million deal.

A couple of observations

  • Wayne Simmonds sucks balls.  He's had maybe 7 good games his entire life.
  • Got to love the Flyers, though.  They go all-in on Shea Weber, come up short, and decide to give Wayne Simmonds money.
  • We wouldn't give Wayne Simmonds money if he was our landlord.
  • People don't talk about Elton John that much anymore.
  • This contract comes at a time when all signings and player movement have come to a standstill with a possible lockout moving.  To the eternal optimist, this could be some kind of sign of some good things to come.

Everything that happened today with the NHLPA's counter offer to the Owners

Crosby overdressed in our opinion.

Busy day of news as the NHLPA countered the Owners July 13th proposal. Start here From PHT:

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman wasn’t revealing much after receiving the NHLPA’s proposal for a new collective bargaining agreement — but he did say it was thorough.

“It’s clear to me that they didn’t put it together in an hour or two,” Bettman told reporters following Tuesday’s meeting in Toronto.

Overall the tone of the day wasn't as negative as everyone was thinking.
