Here are some details on the New Shiz Coming September 7th

GAMEPLAY

- It'll be harder to score with a wraparound.

- If you are slashed and drop a stick, hit and drop a stick, and the stick is still in one piece, you can skate over to it and pick it up and resume play.

- Hussle - gives you an increase to acceleration and a small increase in speed. The point of it is to create a range in speed so that players aren't always going 100% speed. It lowers your fatigue more quickly than normal skating and you can't turn as sharply. So you won't be using this to weave around with the puck, it is more for straight ahead speed in transition on on races for the puck. L3 once will give you a small burst...twice, a little more burst, and 3x will get you to top speed. you got the right idea Hustle will work in EASHL too because there is fatigue there. This is tied to the endurance attribute so that will end up being pretty important.

- The real time physics engine effects all aspects of gameplay not just hits so for goalies what this means is that the puck will bounce differently off the goalies chest protector compared to his pads. You'll notice the puck much more lively off the goalies pads. You'll also see the goalie directing a lot more shots to the corner or sweeping the puck aside to keep the play alive.

- Sticks will break on shots, blocking shots, dropped from hits, can break from stick lifts and slashes. Broken sticks or sticks on the ice will affect the puck and players will be able to kick them out of the way.

- There are 4 new quick dekes (Left Bumper/L1) + UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT and more depth for complex dekes.

- You can string together dekes this year and do 'double dekes'

- This year after you score, you have a small window to trigger a celebrations. We have some that are mapped to the facebuttons and you can ride the stick by holding LT and still control your free arm with the RS. You can also go down to one knee with the RT and control your free arm with the RS.

RULES

- Kick-in goal review

- The interference rules have been changed and they are more realistic.

- You can't get away with interference off the face-off any more.

FACE-OFF

- Grip change (forehand or backhand) first bonus.

- Stick tie up - Tying up is done by moving the left stick into the player.

- Go through the player's legs.

- Stick slash.

- Deke off face-off - Deking from face-offs is done by pressing the LB while pushing the RS in a direction just as you normally would deke

- Shoot off face0ff.

- Timing matters as much as what face-off strategy is selected. It's not necessarily a rock beats paper scenario .

- There are different face-off formations you can select before face-offs.

- Fight at face-off - Y button for 360 and Triangle for PS3.

- The puck is loose from the moment it leaves the ref's hands. gone are the days where the puck would warp to the side of the player who won the faceoff. the puck will also bounce up off the ice.

DEFENSE

- Checking - It's all determined by the weight of the player, the velocity of the hit, and where the player is hit. Very much based on positioning and speed.

- Depending on the position of the person doing the hip check, and where they are in relation to the player they are trying to check, they may or may not produce a big hip check. it is possible to bounce off a person who is intending to hip check.

- Many of the hits are glances where the players stay on their feet. expect to see that more regularly than the big hits.

- Since hitting in that 'safe area' will be taken away...
It is a lot easier to take away the pass with positional play.

PASSING

- passing is now based on how far you hold the trigger and release, instead of the press.

- The ability of a player to receive the pass cleanly depends on all the sorts of things you'd expect, like how hard it is, his skill, the quality of the pass, whether the player can see the puck, if it is on his forehand of backhand, etc. When he doesn't get it cleanly it will other miss completely or glance off.
