QUICK CAP: Wear black to work tomorrow. Going to a funeral on Saturday.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Tyler Kennedy changed EVERYTHING.

HIs goal at the 7:25 mark of the second period got the Pens rolling. Douglas Murray followed up with a goal a minute later, and the Pens snapped out of whatever funk remained from Tuesday night.

Then Sidney Crosby did this:

Letang added a powerplay goal to make it 4-0.

And. oh. by the wa.y Tomas Vokoun shut the door in a stirring performance and got the shutout.

Game 6. 7:30. 7:08 On the Isle.

Three Gifs to lighten the mood

Posted by TPB Staff on .

It used to be a good photoshop could provide some humor in stressful times like these. But GIFs have taken over.

And the bigger the games have gotten the better the GIFs. Here are three from the last two nights that are great:

This GIF was a bigger story than Bruins/Leafs game. [ Awful Announcing ]

This GIF deals with the  controversial goal in Sens/Habs from Tuesday. And may be the funniest GIF of the year:

And this GIF last night from Rangers/Caps focuses on A.O. and his...defense.

New Line Combinations for the Pittsburgh Penguins

Posted by Rick on .

According to the Pens' website, there are some new line combinations at the morning skate:

From the morning skate line rushes it looks like there are a few changes. Neal has moved to left wing while Iginla has shifted to right wing. Also the fourth line had Adams, Vitale and Kennedy. IF Vitale plays that would add some speed that the Penguins have lacked against the Islanders. Lastly, Despres skated with Letang.

Here are the rushes:
Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Neal-Malkin-Iginla
Morrow-Sutter-Cooke
Adams-Vitale-Kennedy
Glass-Jokinen-Bennett
(Jeffrey)

Orpik-Martin
Murray-Niskanen
Despres-Letang
Eaton-Engelland
(Bortuzzo)

Iginla and Neal have switched sides on Malkin's wing. Vitale and Kennedy are now with Adams, so they could be in tonight's line-up. It also looks like Despres is in and Eaton is out.

Could these changes make it to tonight's game?

Sidney Crosby is a Finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award

Posted by Rick on .

Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin and Martin St. Louis are the finalists for the 2013 Ted Lindsay Award.

From the NHL:

Crosby, who previously won the award in 2007, finished tied for third in the League in scoring with 56 points, but led the League with a 1.56 points-per-game average. He was limited to 36 games due to a broken jaw, and despite not playing a regular-season game after March 30, wasn't overtaken for the League scoring lead until the final week of the season. He also had 15 goals and a career-best plus-26 rating.

The Curious Case of Tyler Kennedy

Posted by Rick on .

Tyler Kennedy is not a superstar player. He's not a top winger. He's probably not worth his salary. There are a lot of things that Tyler Kennedy isn't and there are a lot of things that he lacks.

But what he does have is speed. And energy. And the fact that he plays a relatively simple game. Also, he's not Tanner Glass.

So why isn't he in the line-up?
