No matter where you stand, meeting the President is a pretty big deal.
The Pens met President Obama today.
The LA Times Does Not Enjoy You
That is Andrew Malcolm. And he hates you.
Mr. Malcolm writes for the the LA Times. And today he went off about Pittsburgh, the Penguins, and the Stanley Cup.

What Malcolm is doing is going on some type of political rant, and it seems he is using the Penguins in it.
Here is Malcolm's profile:
Andrew Malcolm's immigrant parents repeatedly stressed the importance of active participation in a democracy. Early lessons included learning the alphabetical list of states by watching televised roll calls of national political conventions. That childhood exposure led to a lifelong fascination with politics, including 40-plus years of covering them and a brief stint practicing them as press secretary to Laura Bush in 1999-2000. A veteran foreign and national correspondent, Malcolm served on the Times Editorial Board and was a Pulitzer finalist in 2004. He is the author of 10 nonfiction books and father of four.
So we gather that Malcolm is a conservative? And he hates liberals? Isn't that how it goes or something?
We couldn't care less about all that shit. What does bother us is we can't figure out who he looks like.
Malcolm is probably smart. He knows ripping Pittsburgh will get his failing papers website some hits. But much like his career the article is disappointing. It lacks a substance.
Which pretty much explains why he couldn't even win the Pulitzer Prize he was a finalist for.
P.s. He lost the prize to some dude with the last name of Stall.. just sayin.

One half of the City of Champions will close the chapter on celebrating. The other will open up in the defense of their title.
Busy day ahead with the Pens visiting the White House and the Steelers opening up the season against the Titans.
Can't wait for pics from the white house, will Crosby shake the presidents hand? Stay tuned.
Also in the news, Jimmy Ballsack, the NHL and the Coyotes bankruptcy situation will unfold today. It is sure to be a hot mess.

Morning Pensblog: Jim Paek Lives The Code

The Penguins prospects are taking part in the prospects tournament up in Kitchener.
They are 0-2 or something, got in a few fights. [Penguins.com] has more.
We were all set to show the fights, but then we saw a video we needed to share.
Oct. 4, 1991. The first game of the season for the eventual Stanley Cup Champ Pens against the Sabres in the Aud.
Early in the first period Kevin Stevens starts a scrum in front of the Buffalo net.
Mario gets invloved, and then all world asshole Rob "Gay" Ray comes after Mario.
But guess who knows his role.
Jimmy Paek.
Did Rob Ray really need to take his shirt off there? Like want exactly warranted taking your clothes off in that situation.
Also, how big of a fan boy is that announcer? Did Paek even hit Ray that hard?
He also didn't do his homework. Paek was on the team the year before. That is lazy broadcasting. Typical for Buffalo.
In the end the Pens win the game 5-4.

Sidney Crosby Is Here To Remind You That You Predicted The Future

Bing went to visit Alice Kilgore to deliver her season tickets. [PG]
Someone in the media, who was following Bing, shouted to Alice for a prediction for 2007-08.
She said:
"I don't think you'll win the [Stanley] Cup this year," she said. "Not yet. Maybe next year."
Well, Alice was right.
So Bing brought her something today.
