Short post city.


Tyler Kennedy has been suspended because Brian Burke is a jerk off. [Sportsnet.ca]

The suspension comes after Leafs general manager Brian Burke had contacted the league Saturday night to request a review of the incident. Kennedy had tried to provoke Schenn into a fight during a line change in the second period after the rookie defenceman hit Penguins star Evgeni Malkin with a clean hit by the Pittsburgh bench.

So since Burke is a whiny little bitch, the Pens made a move.

They sent Biz Nasty down.
And brought up Luca Caputi. [Pens.com]
If you put your faith in some player we've never seen at the NHL level, you're a mistake.

Though at this point, we can only pray he turns into the next big thing. And at 6'3, 185 pounds, he is all business. [Faceoff Factor] tells us Caputi started slow but has tallied 28 points in 27 games.
We think his name is pretty sweet.

You can make fun of football all you want.
But this is as big as it gets.

We've seen a Super Bowl run and the Stanley Cup Finals.
We've been lucky.

As Howard Cosell once said:

Would have been nice to have at least gotten a point out of this mess.

Ian White's moustache was a force all night.

Garon showed why he is a backup goaltender in the National Hockey League.
Vesa Toskala was undoubtedly high.  Horrible performance.

But somehow the Leafs squeak out with the win.  The Pens mini 4-game road trip ends Tuesday in Montreal.  And, yes, the CONSOL T-shirt contest is still alive, although there was a close call.
