RECAP: To-Morrow Never Dies. PENS WIN.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Pens swept their three-game Southeast trip. Can't remember the last time that happened.

Florida sucks, and this game was pretty boring. Unlimited Pens fans in attendance.

This tweet sums up our feelings as the Pens move into the biggest week of the season:

Malkin missed Panthers game because of re-injured shoulder, not sun burn as reported

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Speculation is a killer. Before the game some members of the media speculated Evgeni Malkin had a sunburn:

In Molinari's defense he may have been joking, and he wasn't the only one.

But it turned into this:

Other outlets, including The Sporting News, CBS's blog eye on hockey, the score to name a few picked the story up.

The Penguins cleared up the matter after the game:

Hopefully a picture emerges of Malkin and Taylor Swift putting sun tan lotion on each other.

QUICK CAP: Morrow leads Pens to 3-1 win.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Morrow chipped in with two goals, and the Pens completed a three game road sweep, if that is even a thing.

Very boring game, but Pens inch closer to clinching the the number one seed in the east. Bruins and Habs this week.

ROOT, SUN - 7:30 pm/et

BB&T Center - Sunrise, FL

It's the 1st-place team in the Eastern Conference against the 15th-place team. Will the Pens stay focused against a weaker opponent?

A ton of new sites popping up with NHL playoffs tracking. Hockey Reference debuted theirs:

Hard to believe the Isles are going to make the playoffs. Winnipeg not out of it yet, either.

RECAP: All Easy Mode. PENS WIN.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Rewind back to the end of the Flyers series last season. What would your brain have done if you could've seen the Pens' stat lines in this game? Jussi Jokinen: 2G, 1A. Jarome Iginla: 2A. Brenden Morrow: 1A. Douglas Murray: 1A. wtf.

Three things about this game.
1. The Pens are the deepest they've been since the '09 Cup run.
2. Tampa Bay sucks.
3. Geno is rising.

Seven games left, and the Pens' roster is getting stronger every game. Kris Letang returned for this one, and his presence was felt immediately. Every player the Pens traded for had a point in this game. The Pens came out with a purpose for this one, and we saw bits and pieces of what this machine can do. The Bolts hung around, but the Pens flipped a switch, and that was it.

Basically, the Pens' biggest concern right now are North Korea and rumors of Sidney Crosby dating pop singers.

Unbelievable Pens fan presence in Tampa Bay, too. There was a LGP chant during a Pens' PK at one point.

GIF: Douglas Murray wants to dance.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Fights are almost pointless anymore. But sometimes they still have some luster. Case in point: Douglas Murray vs B.J. Crombeen. Crombeen started trolling, and Murray was like, " Let's dance."

Couldn't help but get excited when they showed it was Murray. The fight wasn't great, but Murray got a few good licks in. He also probably hurt his hand.

QUICK CAP: Pens destroy Bolts 6-3.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

This game was close. Then it wasn't.

Jussi Jokinen scored twice, including this beauty:

Jussi with points in three straight games.

Kunitz, Malkin, Dupes, and... Tanner Glass scored.

Three straight wins all of a sudden.
