Sportsnet's "Hockey Central" Twitter Account Has Been Hacked for Five Days

Posted by Rick on .

The @SNHockeyCentral Twitter account has been hacked and it's been sending out inappropriate and hilarious Tweets since May 25. There's only been one "normal" Tweet since the hack, and it was a retweet of another Sportsnet account.

How does someone not notice this and fix it?

EDIT: Finally, it's been fixed.

SERIES PREVIEW: 2013 Eastern Conference Finals. The Bruins offense.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Since we have a bulk of time here before this series gets under way, we're gonna look at all facets of the Bruins piece by piece.

http://s15.postimg.org/akgvktuh7/bruinsoffense.jpg

If you haven't realized it by now, today is the offense. The Bruins' offense is a similar model to the Pens', except they don't have Crosby or Malkin. There isn't a so-called superstar up front for the Bruins, but what the Bruins do have is punch. They bang and bang and bang until the door falls down.

LINK CITY: Last Five Cup Winners Standing, Lyndon Byers

Posted by TPB Staff on .

The Kings knocked off the Sharks late Tuesday night. That means the last five teams standing in the playoffs are the last five Cup winners. If the Hawks win tonight, the final four will be the last four Cup winners. Crazy stuff.

All is quiet for the Eastern Conference Finals for now.  Oh, hey, a full schedule:

8pm start times are an interesting wrinkle. June 11 and June 12, yikes. Back-to-back games six and seven for the right to play for the Cup.

LINK CITY: Vokoun wants to be the man, Iginla, Crosby free

Posted by TPB Staff on .

This brilliant piece by Mike Colligan is from Friday, but it is a must-read on Tomas Vokoun and Fleury. [ The Hockey Writers ]

“You play all those years because you want to have a chance to make a difference and be in playoff hockey. Over the years, when I was on other teams and we didn’t make the playoffs, you realize how special it is. You always envy the guys you see on TV playing for [the Stanley Cup] and you don’t have that chance. I think from that perspective you really have to embrace it.”

So many great quotes from Vokoun.

Also from The Hockey Writers comes this piece about Jarome Iginla. [ THW ]

Eight weeks after nearly becoming a Bruin, and six weeks after his most recent visit to Boston, Jarome Iginla and the Pittsburgh Penguins will tangle with the Bruins in the Eastern Conference Final. Iginla will face being a reviled figure for the first time in his playing career, with a trip to the finals at stake

In our opinon this may be the top storyline. Iginla doesn't need motivation, but some booing from the Boston crowd will jam him up. Could be a monster series from him.

Speaking of the Bruins...

What is more shocking: Milan Lucic stringing together enough words to make a sentence or Milan Lucic knowing who the Miami Heat are? [ Freak Show ]

Crosby has been cleared to take off the jaw guard. Pic from Fansided.

Finally, the Hurricanes are teasing everyone about their new uniforms:

Looks like the Eastern Conference Finals won't start until Saturday.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

It looks like because both of the Western Conference series went seven games, the Eastern Conference Finals won't begin until this Saturday.

Elliotte Friedman all but confirmed it.

Last year at this time the Stanley Cup Finals had already begun .This year, because of the lockout, the schedule was pushed back.

This does give the Penguins and Bruins a much-needed rest. It also gives the hockey world a whole week to play out every possible storyline.

Can't wait.
