Penguin fan Tim Hare tells his story about the Boston Marathon bombing

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Just got this email. Insanely small word:

I have been an avid reader for a few years and have emailed you guys a few times. I was the one who got jobbed a couple years back by my friend Wayne who told me Crosby was at a Bruins game in the press box upset at their team play. This turned out to be true. Yesterday I ran the Boston Marathon and I was incredibly close to the second blast. After having a brush with death, I can't tell you how nice it is to read The Pensblog today and think about something I care very much about The Pens. I appreciate how much effort you guys put into the blog and I check it every day. Thanks you for taking my mind off things for even a few mins. Below is a clip of my ugly mug discussing what I saw that's been all over the news, and my fund raising page where I proudly display my Geno Shersey.

Here is Tim telling his story on ABC news:

Beyond scary. Thoughts with our friends in Boston over at DaysofY'Orr.

We were gonna look at the possible playoff scenarios, but Penguins Sauce has already done the job.

Sidney Crosby, James Neal & Paul Martin All Skating, Evgeni Malkin Wearing Clothes

Posted by Rick on .

Pic of Sidney Crosby skating with a protective face mask, from the Penguins' Facebook page.

According to the Pittsburgh Penguins' official website, Sidney Crosby, James Neal and Paul Martin all skated before practice.

Nothing new on Evgeni Malkin yet, but he is wearing a t-shirt and shorts. We repeat, a t-shirt and shorts. We'll stay with this story all day if we have to!

EDIT: Evgeni Malkin was at practice. He was wearing hockey equipment. If any new Evgeni Malkin wardrobe news appears, we'll update this post immediately.

LINK CITY: List of scorers in NHL arenas, Pens sign goalie

 tweeted this site out.

Believe it or not, it is actually hosted on Angel Fire. And it is awesome.

It tracks the leading scorers in every NHL Arena.

Mellon Arena:

Consol:

Some other interesting ones on this list.
Is there a story behind this?

TK is on a list that doesn't include the words "terrible."

Jan Hrdina is huge in Japan:

RECAP: To-Morrow Never Dies. PENS WIN.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Pens swept their three-game Southeast trip. Can't remember the last time that happened.

Florida sucks, and this game was pretty boring. Unlimited Pens fans in attendance.

This tweet sums up our feelings as the Pens move into the biggest week of the season:

Malkin missed Panthers game because of re-injured shoulder, not sun burn as reported

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Speculation is a killer. Before the game some members of the media speculated Evgeni Malkin had a sunburn:

In Molinari's defense he may have been joking, and he wasn't the only one.

But it turned into this:

Other outlets, including The Sporting News, CBS's blog eye on hockey, the score to name a few picked the story up.

The Penguins cleared up the matter after the game:

Hopefully a picture emerges of Malkin and Taylor Swift putting sun tan lotion on each other.

QUICK CAP: Morrow leads Pens to 3-1 win.

Posted by TPB Staff on .

Morrow chipped in with two goals, and the Pens completed a three game road sweep, if that is even a thing.

Very boring game, but Pens inch closer to clinching the the number one seed in the east. Bruins and Habs this week.
