STATS, INFO & NOTES:

Canucks: Henrik Sedin (9G, 30A: 39P)
Probable Starting Goaltenders:
Penguins: Marc-Andre Fleury (24-10-1, 2.23 GAA, .919 Sv%)
Canucks: Eddie Lack (7-3-2, 2.16 GAA, .923 Sv%)
Penguins: Defeated Winnipeg Jets 6-5.
Canucks: Lost to Anaheim Ducks 4-3 [OT].
The Canucks' 4 game skid, in which they at least have a total of 2 points accounted for, has them in 7th spot in the Western Conference, 5 points up on Phoenix and Minnesota, 2 teams that aren't going to catch the Canucks anyway, right? Right? How's your faith these days? The green and blue gods are dragging you through the desert aren't they? Well the path through the sand doesn't get any easier.
Pittsburgh is the top dog team in the East and statistically sound if you look at the table above. They just got Malkin and Letang back last game in a 6-5 win over the Jets. That was the 5th time this season they have given up 5 goals. Not like it really matters though. I like that 12-9-1 road record of theirs though, it means the Canucks have a chance to take this one after that shitty trip in California. The Pens are 2-2 in their last 4 games on the road.
What Happened Last Time: October 19, 2013 - Pens won 4-3 in a shootout. [Our Recap]
These are the kind of games that remind us why we're hockey fans, even if the Penguins had lost. It was two heavyweights going toe to toe, trading punch for punch. It was the first big game the Pens have played this season, and they got the job done. With Fleury starting off the season 7-0, with Crosby on an absolute tear, with the Pens playing sound defense, and all this happening without Kris Letang and James Neal in the lineup, if you think things could be any better right now, you are high.
Penguins Player(s) to Watch: Chris Kunitz because he's fresh off an Olympic selection.
Canucks Player(s) to Watch: Eddie Lack.
