Malkin skated for 30 minutes today:
Bylsma told reporters after the Penguins' practice in Sunrise, Fla. that Malkin went on the ice after being symptom-free Tuesday.
One thing Malkin will miss on this trip is to match up against his old friend Jordan Staal.
Pierre Lebrun had an interesting write up on Staal today. Two interesting notes:
Sources confirmed at the time that the Rangers and Penguins did talk regarding Jordan Staal, but a deal between divisional rivals would have cost the Blueshirts undoubtedly more than what Carolina paid.
Lebrun ended the piece with this:
"He was a lot of fun to play with," Staal said of No. 87. "It’s exciting to have watched him from the bench over the years. Now to try and defend him and keep him off the score sheet, that’s a huge challenge but one that I’m looking forward to and our whole team is looking forward to."
Really going to be a fun matchup to see those two go at it.
After the jump a feel good story, and a feel really bad story. Also a must read about Legends of the Hidden Temple.
First the story of how a man was saved outside of Consol last weekend:
Unbelievable timing. Five minutes either way...
That above is a story with a happy ending. This story is just sad. This happened last year:
Well the dick got sentenced to jail time:
Martin Tremblay, 48, swept out the leg of an opposing player while the teams were going through the typical hockey ritual of lining up to shake hands after the game. Two players, a 10-year-old and a 13-year-old, fell to the ice. The move was caught on video and worked its way around the Internet.
Tremblay pleaded guilty to one count of assault in November.
